VG4A award-winning chef Castro Boateng is preparing an African-inspired buffet; the guest speaker, an expert on AIDS, has lived and worked in African communities impacted by AIDS. Grandmothers have approached local businesses and put together amazing-value surprise bags. The Commemorative Quilt celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Stephen Lewis Foundation will be on display. Funds raised support grandmothers in sub-Saharan Africa who are winning the battle against HIV and AIDS one community at a time. They are developing caring, holistic solutions, becoming empowered and moving on to advocate for gender equality once their orphaned grandchildren are nourished and educated.
