The situation in the community before Plan Canada arrived was not good. Children of school going age that are supposed to be enrolled in school were in the community. School going ages are between 4 and 5 years old, but they were not in school because the facility was not there.

Plan Canada supported the community through the project management committee to implement a project to construct a two unit pre-school.

“I’m lucky to come to school. I have to learn. And do well in the school. So that I will go further and be what I want to be in the future” says one Volta Community student.

Plan would like to give you the opportunity to help change the world. That’s why they are hosting the Edmonton challenge. Plan Canada is looking for 800 Edmonton area families or individuals to pledge support for Plan. These children and their communities need your help and are counting on you to share your support.
