Wright has more than 15 years experience covering local, regional and national news with a particular focus on politics and policy.
Prior to joining Global News, Wright worked for three years with the parliamentary bureau of The Canadian Press in Ottawa, where she covered Indigenous affairs, gender issues, immigration and party politics. Prior to that, Wright worked for over a decade at The Guardian newspaper in Prince Edward Island as chief political reporter. Wright also spent a year teaching journalism at Holland College in Charlottetown, P.E.I. in 2021-2022.
She has won two silver Atlantic Journalism Awards for her politics coverage in P.E.I. and was part of a team that won gold for breaking news in 2016.
Wright specializes in digging into how government decisions and world events affect everyday Canadians and the lives of the most vulnerable.
