Global Edmonton’s Kevin O’Connell brings his weather forecasts and very quick and friendly wit to Global News Morning Saturdays and Sundays with Lisa MacGregor, and the weekend Global News Hour at 6 and 11 p.m. with Kim Smith.
Kevin started in television in Red Deer in the 1980s. In the early ’90s, he moved to the City of Champions to co-host ITV First News (now Global News Morning on Global Edmonton). Kevin enjoys being a weather broadcaster because he can use his good nature to deliver good and bad forecasts with a smile and a twist of humour, making every day a good day!
Kevin is involved in the community with organizations like SCARS. His interest in music and theatre keeps him busy with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and local musical theatre and drama groups.
When Kevin is not telling us about the weather, he is spending time with his two teenage boys. As a family, they enjoy camping, biking, boating and tubing, skiing and snowboarding or discussing the benefits of getting homework done!
