Kabi Moulitharan
Digital Journalist/Weather Specialist
Kabi Moulitharan is Global Edmonton’s weekend morning news weather anchor.
He joined Global Edmonton in 2023 initially as a digital journalist.
Kabi has covered several topics including the opening of the Valley Line Southeast LRT and the progression of the Valley Line West LRT, the Alberta government passing three laws specifically impacting the lives of trans and gender-diverse people, the impact of U.S. imposed tariffs, and how the city rallied together to cheer on the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup finals two years in a row.
In December 2025, Kabi became the Weather Anchor for Global News Morning Weekend while continuing to report on the morning show during the week.
He began his broadcasting career as an editorial assistant at Global News Toronto and quickly became an online reporter and a writer/producer for the evening news.
He then moved to Global Saskatoon where he covered important community stories including a new emergency wellness centre, major airline delays, and taking part in winter activities to highlight winter weather in Saskatchewan.
When Kabi is not busy reporting, he enjoys streaming new television shows, spending time with loved ones and trying new activities.
