The distinctions are as follows:
Sponsored Content – Content provided by an advertiser that is hosted on a dedicated, non-editorial story template, separate from the standard Global News article format. While the content itself resides on Globalnews.ca, it is not endorsed by Global News and may include links to external sites. Global News editorial staff are not involved in the creation of this content, which leverages the partner’s brand equity while maintaining a clear distinction from editorial coverage.
Partner Content – A digital content integration aligned with Global News formats and audience interests, delivered across Global News digital platforms on behalf of an advertiser or sponsor. Content is produced independently from the Global News editorial team but subject to its approval.
Sponsored and Partner content will be presented in such a way as to make them clearly distinct from Global News editorial content.
Sponsored content includes a mandatory disclaimer stating that it was created on behalf of an advertiser or sponsor, and that it does not necessarily reflect the views of Global News.
Global News reserves the right to refuse or remove any sponsored or partner content that in our opinion is contrary to the Global News Journalistic Principles and Practices, Advertising Terms & Conditions, community standards and good taste.
Global News reserves the right to refuse or remove any sponsored, branded or featured content that in our opinion contains false, deceptive, misleading or illegal content that could be seen to lower the reputation, standing, interests and welfare of Global News.
