PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – The City of Prince Albert has adopted an electronic system for paying parking tickets.

Parking meter attendants are now equipped with handheld devices for recording and issuing tickets to violators.

Tickets will be available for payment the next business day. Previously issued tickets can also be paid online.

A new section of the city’s website allows residents to enter parking ticket numbers and pay bylaw violations. The system accepts Visa, MasterCard and Interac.

“It’s also an added benefit to those who find it more convenient to make the payment from home or on their smart phone rather than making an extra stop at City Hall,” said Joe Day, director of financial services.

Payments are still being accepted at City Hall or by mail.
