ABOVE: Video raises questions about how to deal with serious situations on the TTC. Sean Mallen reports.

TORONTO – Public transit officials are advising passengers not to get involved in confrontations with fellows riders after a video appeared on the internet showing an altercation on a subway train.

The video posted on Facebook begins with a man standing in between a subway door.

A Toronto Transit Commission employee’s voice is heard on the video saying, “You’re holding up the whole train.”

That was followed by, “Get out of the doorway now” and finally, “You need to move or else I’ll get security to move you.”

As the sliding door attempts to close, another passenger proceeds to push the man out.

At that point, the man kicks the passenger before the door closes.

The video has been shared more than 1,700 times since being posted on Oct. 26.

It’s unclear at which station the video was taken or the exact date of the recording.

TTC spokesperson Brad Ross advises passengers to let transit officers and police handle these types of situations.
