SASKATOON – Saskatoon police have issued a public advisory after a high-risk offender moved to the city.

James Peter McKnight, 34, had been living in Prince Albert but is now living in Saskatoon.

McKnight has a history of exposing himself, and touching himself inappropriately in front of children in public places.

He is considered a high-risk to re-offend and is on probation until June 8, 2015.

There are a number of conditions placed on McKnight.

He is prohibited from being in public parks or swimming areas where children under the age of 16 are present or can reasonably be expected to be present.

He is also to stay away from daycare centres, school yards, playgrounds or community centres.

In addition, McKnight is not allowed to work or volunteer anywhere that involves being in a position of trust or authority towards anyone under 16 or to use a computer to communicate with children.

Those conditions on McKnight are in place until June 10, 2021.

McKnight is 5’10”, 160 pounds with a medium build, short brown hair and green eyes.

He is required to live at a Saskatoon address and undergo treatment.

Police say they are issuing the advisory to allow the public to take suitable preventative measures and not to embark on any form of vigilantism or unreasonable conduct towards McKnight.

Anyone who knows of McKnight violating any of the terms of his conditions should call police at 306-975-8300 or 9-1-1 in an emergency situation.
