ABOVE: Soldiers rush to help victims of car accident near Downsview
TORONTO – Paramedics are treating several people after a serious crash near Downsview Park.
The crash happened just before noon Wednesday on Sheppard Avenue near Kodiak Crescent when a Cadillac Escalade collided with a BMW sedan.
According to Kim McKinnon from Toronto EMS, a total of seven people were injured during the collision. Four of the injured were treated by paramedics at the scene while three others went to two separate Toronto-area hospitals with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The crash however happened near a military compound and several soldiers were among the first on scene.
Police have closed Sheppard Avenue west from Chesswood Drive to Kodiak Crescent for the length of their investigation.
