Streets in Vancouver’s West End are flooded this morning due to a water main break.
It appears the break happened at Chilco and Nelson, but a couple of blocks are affected. The 900 block of Chilco and the 1900 block of Nelson are both closed.
Water is gushing down the streets and there is some damage to the sidewalks.
Vancouver city manager told Global News the damage is not too extensive but they will have to repave a couple of the intersections.
Crews do not know exactly where the break happened, so they will have to dig up the street to find the source.
There is no damage to property at this time. Residents will have access to a temporary water supply as this disruption is expected to last for a few days.
They will notice a drop in pressure as well.
