At least six people have died following a crash between a Via Rail train and an OC Transpo bus in Ottawa’s west end Wednesday morning.
Emergency officials have confirmed that six people died and 31 patients have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The union representing OC Transpo drivers had raised concerns in the past about the double-decker buses like the one involved in Wednesday’s crash.
Politicians and concerned Ottawa residents took to Twitter to send their thoughts to the victims and their families.
