Three dead after rollover south of Moose Jaw

MOOSE JAW, Sask. –Police say alcohol and non-seat belt use may be contributing factors in a rollover that left three men dead and three others injured.

It happened on Highway 2 approximately 40 kilometres south of Moose Jaw, Sask. around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night.

A northbound vehicle carrying six men left the road and rolled several times before coming to stop near the bottom of an embankment.

RCMP say a number of the occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

Two men were pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the two men airlifted to hospital in Regina early Monday morning has passed away. The other man remains in critical condition.

Two others were taken to Moose Jaw Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Charges are pending against 23-year-old driver.

The investigation is ongoing.

Highway 2 traffic restrictions have been lifted.
