MONTREAL – After paddling 5,000 km across Canada by canoe, the Paddle Across Canada Tour (PACT) team arrived in Montreal on Thursday.
The team paddled up the Lachine Canal to the Lachine National Historic Site to a warm welcome from Montrealers.
The adventure took place over four months, after the team left Rocky Mountain House in Alberta and retraced the roots of Canada’s history by way of the rivers and lakes made famous by early explorers.
Team members said the purpose of their journey was to highlight our shared history and all fundraising proceeds go directly to PACT’s partners: Camp Outlook, the Couchiching Community Initiative and the Pine Project.
