More than 1,500 people in the Tri-Cities area were without power this morning after a stormy and rain heavy night on the south coast.
BC Hydro crews were busy as at its peak there were more than 11,000 homes that were left in the dark.
In Vancouver, some major streets resembled streams as heavy rain overwhelmed storm drains. Many pedestrians were also caught off-guard with water up their shins in some parts.
In Surrey, the storm brought a tree down onto a house on 136th street. Emergency crews say no one was hurt in the incident.
The downpour was also a hazard for drivers with the downpour of rain causing issues with visibility on the roads.
