CORNER BROOK, N.L. – A former city councillor in Saint John, N.B., who is facing sex-related charges in western Newfoundland, appeared briefly in a Corner Brook court Tuesday.

The case against Donnie Snook was adjourned to Oct. 29.

Snook, a native of eastern Newfoundland, was in custody in New Brunswick in May when he pleaded guilty to 46 other sex-related charges involving 17 boys, including sexual assault and possessing, distributing and making child pornography.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in Saint John on Aug. 29.

On Tuesday, Snook’s lawyer was not present in the Corner Brook court, so the accused told the court that he had yet to receive full disclosure on the latest charges.

The former Salvation Army minister is facing charges that allege sexual interference and sexual assault against a boy in Mount Moriah, N.L., between Dec. 1, 1995 and April 1, 1996.
