New affordable BlackBerry Q5 is a winner

Good morning folks, today on my GlobalTV Monday Morning News Tech Talk segment I showed the newest affordable BlackBerry Q5.

Affordable because its only $50 or less with a two year plan from Rogers, TELUS, Bell, Koodo (with $150 tab), Sasktel, Fido and only with Virgin Mobile Canada a gorgeous red edition.

Compared to the BlackBerry Q10 also with keyboard, $699.95 with no plan, the Q5 retails for $399 outright. I like the youthful simplistic design, it’s easy to hold and it biggest advantage over competitors is that if you are super busy, there simply is no other brand that can let you switch as quickly from whatever else you are doing to your BlackBerry Hub where multiple emails, social site updates, texts, BlackBerry Messenger and more are waiting for your quick glance or response, then one finger swoosh to what you were doing before.

How will you keep in touch with your Android and iPhone friends? BlackBerry Messenger with superior video and voice features will soon be available for iPhones and Android phones so you will be able to keep in touch with other phone users in better ways, including two-face video calling and voice only talking, while texting and sharing screens at the same time using a money-saving WiFi connection. Smart.

Here’s what I like best about the Q5 QWERTY keyboard.  Each key on left half (for your left thumb) has a slight outwards slope as does the right side of keys. This small detail, something BlackBerry was always good at, provides a better contact with your thumbs as they press down. Typing just feels better than other keyboard phones. Try it!
