Due to a high level of bacteria in the water at the Sunset and Second Beaches in Vancouver’s West End, the Vancouver Coastal Health authority has issued a swimming advisory.

The VCH says to avoid any water-related activities that immerses your whole body, face or trunk or puts you at risk of swallowing; which includes swimming, waterskiing and surfing.
The E. coli count for Sunset Beach is 320 and 210 for Second Beach, which is higher than the recommended level of 200 E. coli/100 milletres.
