CALGARY- A southwest school had to be evacuated on Monday, after a fire broke out on a school bus.
Emergency crews were called around 11 a.m. to St. James Elementary and Junior High School, in the 2200 block of 58 Ave. S.W.
A teacher said a school bus had been parked outside for about an hour and a half, when a neighbour noticed smoke.
By the time fire crews arrived, flames were shooting out of the vehicle, and the school was evacuated. Students were taken to a nearby church.
Nobody was inside the bus, and investigators are trying to determine how the fire started.
