Calgary 1988 can take a back seat to Vancouver 2010.

It appears "Own the Podium" is working for Canada as we have now won six medals at the 2010 Winter Olympics (one more than Calgary '88). Canada's latest medal is courtesy Marianne St-Gelais.

What better way to celebrate your 20th Birthday than a Silver Medal at the Winter Olympics! Marianne St-Gelais finished second in the Women's Short Track Speed Skating – 500m event. St-Gelais becomes just the third Canadian woman to hit the podium in short track speed skating since it became an Olympic sport in 1992.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

A big congratulations to our latest medallist!
