A Winnipeg man has been charged with impersonating a police officer again.
Thomas Hanaway is accused of repeatedly going onto social media sites and pretending to be a member of the RCMP dive team. The websites are popular among police and other scuba groups and officers quickly realized he wasn’t the real deal.
“I’m not sure why he’s doing what he’s doing,” Cst. Jay Murray said. “The last thing we want to happen is this individual to provide advice to someone and potentially cause further harm.”
It’s not the first time the 59-year-old has been charged with this offence.
