Four Manitoba restaurants have been slapped with recent fines for health code violations that include poor sanitation, dirty equipment and rodents.
The Toad in the Hole Pub & Eatery on Osborne Street was hit with $1,422.95 in fines for three different violations including poor sanitation, not keeping the bathrooms in good repair and serving food that was stored in unsanitary conditions.
The Baldur Motor Hotel has to pay up $1,273.95 for three different violations including failing to maintain the safe internal temperature of food, failing to ensure food is correctly thawed and for its washer being able to properly sanitize utensils.
The Meiji Sushi & G Martini Bar on River Avenue is facing $886.80 for two violations for not having a dishwasher that could properly sanitize and for not taking effective measures to stop rodents from getting into the restaurant.
A Brandon restaurant was also hit with a violation. The Pizza Pizza on 1st Street was hit with a $307 bill for failing to maintain the safe internal temperature of potentially hazardous food.
