A 37-year-old is in custody in connection to a stabbing in Saint-Sauveur, N.B.
RCMP say they were called to a residence around 3 p.m. Wednesday near in the town near Route 160, which is 40 kilometres southeast of Bathurst.
Police say they were advised an altercation had taken place between a man and a woman after the man entered the residence.
According to RCMP, the woman was able to disarm the man, but both received stab wounds during the altercation.
Both were taken to Bathurst Regional Hospital, where the woman was later released. The man, however, was airlifted to a trauma centre in Moncton and is now recovering.
Charges against the 37-year-old are pending.
The police investigation is ongoing.
