If you applied online for a job at McDonald’s in the last few years your personal information may have been compromised.
“The McDonald’s Canada career website was recently subject to a cyberattack,” reads a release from the fast food giant.
“The personal information of approximately 95,000 restaurant job applicants has been compromised, as a result of this privacy breach.”

The hack affects the information of those who applied for a job online between March 2014 and March 2017. Hackers may have accessed names, addresses, phone numbers, email address, employment background and “other standard application information.”
However, applicants’ social insurance numbers, banking information or personal health information was not at risk, McDonald’s states.
The careers website was immediately shutdown when the breach came to light; an investigation is underway.
McDonald’s will notify the applicants whose information was accessed during the hack by mail, email or phone.
So far there is no indication the information accessed has been “misused, ” McDonald’s stated.
“We apologize to those impacted by this incident.”
