An investigation is now underway after a five-year-old boy drowned in the bathtub of a Surrey home.
RCMP were called to the home at 109 Avenue and University Drive in Surrey at 4:55 p.m. Sunday. BC Ambulance and the Surrey Fire Department were also called and tried to revive the boy for about an hour.

However, the boy did not survive.
The BC Coroners Service was also called.
No names are being released at this time.
NOTE: Surrey RCMP originally stated the boy’s age was six. They now say he was five years old.
