A van that was stolen in Toronto with as many as 16 dogs inside has been found with all dogs reported safe and accounted for.
Toronto police confirmed to Global News just after 8:00 p.m. that the van, stolen earlier in the day, had been located at 200 Queens Quay West.
Police also confirmed that all the dogs “were accounted for” and “in good health.”
Owners of the dogs were told that they would be contacted to arrange for pick-up of their pets after their statements were taken.
At around 11:30 a.m. Friday police responded to a call at the Fort York Blvd. and Bathurst St. area after reports of a stolen van.
It was later revealed that the van was being driven by a dogwalker employed by Soulmutts Torontowho went upstairs to pick up another dog when the vehicle was stolen.
The frantic dog owners quickly took to social media, sharing photos of their pets and pleading for their safe return.
The suspect, who is still at large, is described by police as a white male, standing 6’0″ tall, with a medium build and blond, wavy hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a grey jacket and holding a pink Ardene plastic bag.
