Occupational Health and Safety is investigating the death of a 47-year-old man Sunday at a work site in northern Alberta.
According to OHS, workers were pumping water to another work site at around 5:45 p.m. Sunday near Fox Creek. Workers went to investigate the pump after it started revving when a hose let go and hit one of the workers.
The man was treated at the scene and taken to hospital in Fox Creek where he passed away.
The worker was contracted by Secure Energy Services in Calgary and the prime contractor is Shell Canada.
OHS issued a stop work order at the site as it investigates.
Fox Creek is about 263 km northwest of Edmonton.
