Beer to be served in cups, roof will be closed for Blue Jays-Rangers Game 3

Staff at the Rogers Centre will be cracking down on security Sunday evening for Game 3 of the American League Division Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Texas Rangers.

The Toronto Blue Jays announced beer will be poured into cups for the rest of the post-season.

“Enhanced security and alcohol management measures will be in place to provide our fans, staff and players with a safe and enjoyable atmosphere,” the team said in a statement Sunday morning.

The announcement comes after a man was charged with mischief after throwing a can of beer on the field during the American League wild-card game Tuesday at the Rogers Centre.

Kenneth Pagan, 41, surrendered to police Thursday evening.

The team also announced the roof will be closed for the game. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. ET and opening pitch is at 7:38 p.m.
