A 33-year-old Toronto man has been charged with assaulting a parking enforcement officer after he was issued a ticket last week.
Toronto police say the assault took place on Sept. 9 around 6 p.m. after the officer placed a ticket on a vehicle parked in a rush-hour route in the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue area.
Police say the man approached the female officer and threw the ticket in her window. The officer was then pushed when she attempted to re-serve the ticket.
Police say the man fled the scene after he tried to open her car door while she was inside her vehicle.
The accused, identified as Jin Jua Shao, turned himself into police a couple of hours later.
Shao faces one count of assault peace officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
