2 years in a row, Saskatchewan has most pampered pets: Amazon.ca report

A new report by Amazon.ca ranks Regina as the number one city for pampered pets, followed closely by Saskatoon.

Amazon’s fourth annual list of top Canadian cities for pampered pets was released Monday. For the second year in a row it ranked Regina and Saskatoon as one and two, with Windsor Richmond and Kitchener rounding out the top five.

The report analysed per capita sales data for pet items purchased from Amazon.ca from August 2015 to August 2016 in cities with more than 100,000 residents.

Regina’s sales put the city at the top of almost every category, purchasing the most items for dogs, cats, fish, and small animals, but Saskatoon did come in first for most reptile related sales.

The top 10 most pampered pets cities in Canada are:

4. Richmond, B.C.
5. Kitchener, Ont.
6. Gatineau, Que.
7. London, Ont.
8. Vancouver, B.C.
9. Calgary, Alta.
10. Markham, Ont.
