A horse escaped its farm and made its way in to a residential area on 43 Street South in Lethbridge.
Sandra Marnoch thinks the horse was spooked by nearby construction. She was the one who reported the horse on the loose to police.
“I was actually just at my front office here, and looked out the window and saw a horse eating my grass. The kids were all standing here so I quickly ran out because of the kids and I realized he was a big horse, and I guided him back to the empty lot,” she said.
The horse has a gash in his back left leg and some scratches near his neck.
Police believe the horse is from a nearby farm. They say it appears the horse got through a fence and that is how he sustained the injuries.
Police have reached out to who they think the owners are, but they are out of the country.
The horse has been taken by a vet and they are looking after it.
