Making A Difference: Tisho’s Music Academy

A new band called Studio 7 just celebrated their iTunes debut and enjoying their newfound success upon returning to their hometown of Bolton, Ontario.

The group returned from Los Angeles after attending a week-long workshop called “Living the Dream” organized by Toronto entertainment industry company, Be Discovered.

Founded in 2001 by industry veteran Diana Uribe, Be Discovered prepares new faces and talent for entertainment industry.

It was a seamless transition for the band of teenagers which came as a surprise to some.

“Very shy at first but there was something really special about them,” said Uribe. “They were very humble but hungry to give this opportunity a shot.”
The band consists of two singers, a drummer and a guitarist.

All are classically trained students from Tisho’s Music Academy in Bolton.

Their instructor and mentor Davor Jordanovski hand-picked the musicians based on their compatible music styles.

Mary Balinov, co-owner of the music academy said Jordanovski ‘s keen eye was the kick-start to Studio 7’s discovery.

“He is one of the teachers that we have that has a well trained eye,” said Balinov. “He can spot potential in a lot of our students and he pretty well narrowed down these four.”

Jordanovski says their potential was obvious from the start.

“You see that right away in a kid. What we have now in Studio 7 is something really amazing,” said Jordanovski. “The accomplishment is something that really exceeded everyone’s expectations.”

The workshop allowed them to work intensively with highly regarded L.A producers and writers to help record their debut single Living The Dream.
Kristian Balinov, Studio 7’s drummer said the title of the song isn’t exactly a coincidence.

“I am 100 per cent living the dream with all of this. We’re on ITunes now, we have a Facebook page and we have a website set up. You don’t expect all this to happen from a small town like this. It’s amazing.”

Studio 7’s Living The Dream was downloaded across the world within the first week of release.
