Kelowna police are asking for the public’s assistance finding a local man who was reporting missing on Friday after several RCMP leads into his whereabouts have failed to turn up his location.

The Kelowna man, Michael Garthe, was last seen on July 24, 2016.

Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey said in a news release that there is no suspected foul play associated with Garthe’s disappearance.

“Police are concerned for Michael Garthe’s health and well-being and friends and family report that it’s out of character for him to be out of contact for this long,” O’Donaghey said.

Garthe is described as a 57-year-old Caucasian male with brown hair and blue eyes, 5’4″ tall and weighing 154 pounds.

O’Donaghey said Garthe may have traveled to the north Okanagan or Kootenay area; he could be in Revelstoke but it’s also possible he’s still in Kelowna.

“He should have with him a white 1991 Volkswagen Golf bearing British Columbia licence plates 070 HDR.”

Anyone with information on where Garthe or his vehicle may be is asked to contact their local police detachment or Crime Stoppers.
