WINNIPEG –Winnipeg police are on the lookout for a suspect who groped a 16-year-old girl on a transit bus Monday evening.

Around 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a sexual assault that occurred earlier on a bus.

A 16-year-old girl was alone on the bus route #17, and an unknown man sat next to her and groped her, police said.

An adult woman then intervened, and that’s when the girl was able to move to the front of the bus and alert the driver, police said.

The suspect denied the accusation and took off from the bus in the area of McDermot Avenue and Frances Street.

The girl was not physically harmed.

The man is described as 20 to 30 years old, around six feet two inches tall, a skinny build and dark, thick curly hair. He also has a cast on his right hand.
