Roughly 4,000 homes and businesses in West Kelowna who rely on the Lakeview Water System are being advised to keep an eye on their water.
The City of West Kelowna issued a water quality advisory late Thursday afternoon.
The affected water comes from the Rose Valley Reservoir.
Officials say the turbidity levels in the water are higher than normal, and people with compromised immune systems are asked to boil their water.
“As turbidity increases, bacteria, viruses and microorganisms can attach themselves to the suspended particles in the turbid water. These particles can interfere with disinfection by shielding the microorganisms from the chlorine,” the city said in a release.
There’s no timeline on how long the advisory might last.
