Victim in Dover death likely not intended target: Police

CALGARY – Police say a young woman found dead after a shooting in Dover at the end of August, was likely not the intended target.

Amy Sands was found dead inside a garage along Dover Meadow Close S.E. on August 31st.

Police say they believe the shooting was targeted, but say the 27-year-old victim was likely not the intended target.

Detective say there may have been up to eight people inside the garage at the time of her death, but only about half of them have come forward to speak with investigators.

Police are hoping the remaining witnesses will contact them.

An autopsy on the victim is expected to be conducted on Wednesday.
