Port Moody Police were called to a home in the 3300-block of Dewdney Trunk Road at 1: 30 p.m. for a domestic dispute and when they arrived found the residence engulfed in flames. Two adults were still inside the home and police were able to retrieve the pair.

According to police, the woman was found inside the home suffering from extensive burns to her body. She was taken to hospital but later died of her injuries on Sunday night. Her husband was arrested at the scene and is in police custody.

The couple have six children ranging in age from five to 18 years old. All but one of their children were at home during the dispute and fire. With the help of neighbours, the five children were able to escape the fire from the second storey and get to safety before the first responders were on scene.
