Devin Hall found guilty of first degree murder in Winnipeg Salisbury House shooting

WINNIPEG — Devin Hall has been found guilty for a fatal shooting inside a Salisbury House restaurant nearly four years ago.

Hall is guilty of first-degree murder and attempted murder after walking into the Salisbury House at Pembina Highway and Stafford Street and opening fire on September 27, 2012. He was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.

Hall entered a plea of not guilty. The trial began on June 8.

23-year-old Jeffrey Lau, a local drug dealer, was killed. A second victim, who cannot be named because of a publication ban, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A 14-second surveillance video of the gunman was released publicly during the trial.
