MONTREAL – Police in Laval are investigating after five teenagers have been reported missing from their home since Friday.
Three girls have since been found but one boy and one girl were still missing as of Sunday afternoon.
According to police, the runaways are between the ages of 14 and 17.

Laval police spokesperson Franco Di Genova would not confirm reports that the teens had run away from a group home in Laval.
The group home in question made headlines earlier this year after multiple young girls disappeared from the centre. Authorities believe they were sexually exploited by street gangs.

Following the rash of runaways from the Laval group home, the Quebec government unveiled new measures in February to tackle teen prostitution, investing $3 million in a five-year plan called Prévention Jeunesse.

While some have been quick to link the recent disappearances with sex toursim associated with Grand Prix weekend in Montreal, Laval police say there is no connection.
