Amateur video shows crash-ending to Mississauga police chase

WATCH: Amateur video footage of a police chase in Mississauga. WARNING: Foul language.

Amateur video shows the dramatic crash that ended a high-speed police chase in Mississauga earlier this week.

The online footage shows Peel Regional Police officers try to stop a pickup truck suspected of impaired driving on Wednesday, with the vehicle at one point ramming through traffic as it tries to get away.

The truck speeds off with a tire blown and sparks flying before it slams into a light fixture at a busy intersection. A man then crawls through the driver-side window of the wrecked truck, with officers quickly arresting him.

Const. Bally Saini said the pursuit lasted five minutes, with two men inside the suspect vehicle suffering minor injuries and two cruisers and another vehicle damaged.

Daniel Rahimi, 23 of Mississauga, was charged with flight from police, excess blood alcohol, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and escaping lawful custody in connection with the incident.
