Police identify woman killed in multi-vehicle crash in Essex, Ont., investigate cause

ESSEX, Ont. — Provincial police have identified the person who died in a five-vehicle crash in Essex, Ont.

The crash took place on Highway 3 Wednesday afternoon, when a pickup truck rear-ended a car, which then rear-ended a van.

The car then veered into the oncoming lane hitting a transport truck and another car.

Police say 67-year-old Diana Pepper, of Leamington, Ont., was a rear passenger in the first car and died of her injuries at the scene.

Six other people were sent to hospital with varying degrees of injuries, none of which were considered life threatening.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
