Garbage volume limits waived as spring cleaning kicks in for Delta residents

If you live in Tsawwassen, today might be a good day to get rid of the piles of garbage that have been accumulating in your basement over winter.

It’s day one of the city’s Spring Clean-Up, an annual program where normal garbage volume limits are waived and residents can place excess or bulky household material at the curbside for collection.

However, the city warns residents who don’t comply with program guidelines won’t have their garbage collected.

Material must not be placed out any sooner than the weekend prior to the scheduled collection. The amount of accepted material cannot exceed a pick-up truck load (8′ x 4′ x 3′ or 2.5m x 1.2m x 1m). Items must be able to be handled by two people, as oversized items won’t be accepted. All items must also be bagged or bundled; loose material will not be accepted.

Only residents that receive Delta’s weekly garbage collection service are eligible to participate.
