“CurlManitoba is excited to be going back to Portage which hosted a very successful Scotties,” said Craig Baker, the organization’s executive director, in a statement. “At that time, we made the decision that we wanted to bring the men’s championship to the PCU Centre at the earliest opportunity.”

Portage last hosted the provincial men’s curling championship in 2003. It also put on the 1999 championship which was won by Jeff Stoughton.

This year’s Viterra Championship is taking place in Selkirk.
