SASKATOON – Joseph Fiennes has been cast as the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, in a TV drama set to broadcast later this year. Fiennes will play Jackson in Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon, which will tell the story of a – possibly fictitious – road trip the three stars are rumoured to have made in an attempt to leave New York after the Sept. 11 attacks.

The problem? Fiennes is Caucasian and Jackson was of African decent.
The casting news comes amid the intense #OscarsSoWhite debate about lack of diversity in Hollywood, sparked by an all-white slate of Academy Awards acting nominees.
What do you think? Is it appropriate to cast a Caucasian actor to play Michael Jackson?
