TORONTO — Authorities are investigating after a tractor-trailer crashed into three buildings in Tottenham, Ont. on Thursday.
Ontario Provincial Police said the truck was travelling northbound on Queen Street at about 11 a.m. in Tottenham when for unknown reasons it veered into the southbound lane, drove over the sidewalk and travelled more than 20 metres before striking a ReMax building, a post office and crashing into a convenience store.
The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to hospital for assessment, to determine whether he had a medical episode that caused the crash.
The Ministry of Transportation is at the scene examining the mechanics of the truck and structural engineers have been called in to look at the structural damage to the building.
No one was seriously injured in the crash but police said the driver sustained minor injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
