Free fare day for passengers affected by ferry breakdown
It’s good news for B.C. Ferries passengers on the Sunshine Coast.
The Crown corporation is offering free fares today after the trips between Powell River and Earl’s Cove were cancelled on the weekend.
The North Island Princess is now back up and running.
On Thursday, six sailings were cancelled after the vessel was sidelined by a broken fuel pump.
At the time, the mechanical problem had some Powell River residents complaining it feels like they are living on Alcatraz.
