‘Nasty weather’ headed for the Maritimes

HALIFAX – Environment Canada is warning of a couple of nasty weather systems headed for the Maritimes.

The national weather forecaster says a mild air mass will reach the region on Sunday, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

It says significant rainfall is expected on Sunday evening, with temperatures dropping on Monday, which could make for icy driving conditions in some areas.

Environment Canada says another vigorous system will likely bring heavy rain, snow and strong winds to Atlantic Canada in the middle of the week.
