Thousands of Indian students from more than a dozen schools brushed their teeth together in an attempt to create a world record in the southern city of Bengaluru on Thursday.
More than 17,000 students gathered with their teachers at Delhi Public School Bangalore East at the event oragnised by My Dental Plan, a dental insurance company based in India.
The company claims they have broken the previous record of most people brushing their teeth simultaneously at a single venue, but are awaiting an official certificate from Guinness World Records.
The current official record of 13,380 people was created at an event arranged by Colgate Palmolive (Central América) Inc. at the Cuscatlán Stadium in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador on 5 November 2005.
