Authorities say a man in England rode a hoverboard into a shop in south London to steal a case of energy drinks.

Metropolitan Police released surveillance footage of the incident on social media Thursday and it quickly went viral.

The recording captured an unidentified man in grey sweats riding a hoverboard with blue lights into the Co-op supermarket in Mitcham. The man was seen riding out of the store carrying a case of Lucozade.

The use of hoverboards on roads and pavement is illegal in the U.K. The Crown Prosecution Service determined them unsafe in October.

Police released the CCTV footage in an effort to identify the suspect.
