UPDATE: Police have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the incident. He is currently in custody. RCMP say they were able to track down the vehicle and suspect thanks to tips from the public. The Kelowna man is facing numerous charges.
Police are searching for the driver of a black Nissan who rammed an RCMP cruiser this morning.
The Nissan was parked in a stall in the 1600 block of Dilworth Drive. An officer parked behind it and attempted to get the driver’s attention.
RCMP say driver side and back windows of the Nissan are smashed and the rear end of the vehicle has heavy damage. Police say they’ve received tips the vehicle was spotted in the Rutland area.
Police haven’t released any details on the suspect.
The officer wasn’t injured.
RCMP are now searching for the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP or Crimestoppers.
